Traditionally, a romance novel ends with the wedding of the protagonists. In this story, however, the marriage takes place right at the beginning. Amid the French Wars, the marquess gave her dying father his word – and, with the law and witnesses on his side, took her as his wife. While she herself was absent.

His motives are plain enough: the honour of keeping his word, but also the pressing need for a male heir.

Yet Lady Honor has more than one reason to resist her husband’s… outrageous behaviour. The Marquess happens to be the very man who, some years ago, ruined her chances on the marriage market with a spiteful remark.

And now he comes charging back, determined to convince her to share his bed?

Ha!

A final word: “Marchioness Overnight” is a story where the sparks between the two main characters truly fly. Of course, he’s determined to secure an heir, preferably two, but… let me put it plainly. This book is wonderfully steamy. There is more passion than in my usual romances. Why? Because the chemistry between them all but exploded while I was writing, and I simply couldn’t extinguish the flames.

In my Regency romance, you’ll meet Lady Honor at a rather pivotal moment. A well-bred gentleman has just proposed, and she’s about to accept… when hestorms into the drawing room: Evan Montague, Marquess of Winchester. The one man she would never have chosen to marry.

And now he’s claiming she already has.

The very same man who once ruined her prospects with a single cutting remark about her yolk-yellow feather-trimmed gown is now standing before her, brooding, furious, undeniably attractive, insisting she is, in fact, his lawful wife.

Unfortunately for Honor, he’s right.

He served alongside Honor’s father in the war, who promised him her hand.

She is the new Marchioness of Winchester. And if he has his way, she’ll be producing an heir as soon as possible. Or better yet, two.
